OBJECTIVE

The 501 © 3 Corporation seeks to promote and provide computer and job skills, employment training, college preparation services, entrepreneurial development seminars, reading literacy and mentor support, conflict resolution and family services, diversity sensitivity workshops, health and nutritional programs, as well as employment opportunities for economically disadvantaged persons and youth.

Why Does the Church need a CDC? The Holy Bible teaches us to feed the hungry; clothe the naked; care for the poor; and to exhibit love and compassion for our neighbor.

It is true that we can, and do, fulfill these responsibilities without a 501 © 3. However, today’s community is engulfed in difficult and turbulent economic, spiritual, and physical times.

This condition requires a huge response and commitment from our church. Unfortunately, the church at times lack the capacity of human and material resources necessary to meet this challenge.

As a result, creation of a 501 © (3) corporation positions Maple Creek to identify and secure third party funding (grants, etc.) and expertise required to deliver programs and services needed by our congregants and community.
